5 Ways to Invest in Yourself

5 Ways to Invest in Yourself

Posted by Renata Lardelli on
It's been a month since my last blog post - I committed to do them weekly but here I am publicly calling myself out! I am sure you haven't been waiting on the edge of your seats for something but I like to do what I say I am going to do & weekly was just too ambitious so I've readjusted myself & think fortnightly is more within my capabilities.

I absolutely love working here in the shop - it's the dreamiest job but one of the things I miss most is my time. I used to be able to meet up with my husband or girlfriends, go out for lunch, catch a day time movie, go to the supermarket, run errands etc... now I find myself rushing everywhere, forgetting things & calculating how many tasks I can achieve in the 30 minutes after I've dropped my boys off in the morning & opening the shop. Some days I surprise myself with what I can achieve - like yesterday morning; I got petrol, met with my printer & grabbed treats at one of my favourite cafe's. WOW - I thought to myself, that was productive. Some days I just pop home to hang out the 17 loads I washing I didn't have time to get to.

I looked up my own personal blog, it only lived for 5 whole post, so it's probably better referred to as an attempted blog but let's not let that have any bad juju on this one. One of the five entries was about investing in yourself, I read over it & still believe in the 5 tips I shared;
  1. Take a moment to really consider what you want to do with your 'Me Time'
  2. Create a daily ‘ME’ time ritual & by doing so those who surround you will know this is what you do, when you do it & that it is important to you
  3. Kill two birds with one stone & get creative with the time that you do have. Think of where you can fit in ‘ME’ time within the things you already need to do
  4. Have something to look forward to
  5. Make hay while the sun shines. Take advantage of the opportunities to snatch some ‘ME’ time when they present themselves
You get back what you give tenfold so support your other half in their 'Me Time' then when yours rolls around it will be so much sweeter!
